Children infected with COVID-19 at day care centers spread the virus at home

A study reveals that children who get infected with the Coronavirus at daycare centers and day camps are transmitting it to their families. The report shows that children can bring the virus home. And thus, infect others.

The fact that children can spread COVID-19 is already known. But the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study “definitely indicates the potential for transmission to family members.” Said William Hanage, a Harvard University infectious disease expert.

The findings do not mean that schools and daycare centers should be closed. However, they confirm that the virus can spread in those places. And of course, be brought home by children. Therefore, masks, disinfection and adequate distance are essential.

In addition, those who work in such places must be careful and tested if they think they might be infected.
